I haven’t had time to fully listen to it yet, but from what I can see and hear it sounds like another dope track from J. Cole. This track is the 3rd single from his upcoming album entitled Born Sinner, which is set to be released on June 18th. On the track he takes a moment to bask in his success and admits to being a changed man. Add the fact that he pays homage to the late great Notorious B.I.G. in several ways, and Mr. Cole just may have an eventual classic on his hands. Take a listen and enjoy.
Today I’m posting a piece I came across a while back but never got around to adding it to the site. It touches on the infamous Hurricane Katrina, which ravaged the Gulf Coast and, more notably, the city of New Orleans. I figured since I, and a lot of my friends and family, were in New Orleans when this tragedy occurred now is as good of a time as any. It is entitled The Ugly Show and comes from Black Ice, a Philadelphia poet with an epic name to say the least. (Quick shot out to my extended family from Philly……..you know I got y’all!)
Now this poem may not be for everyone and is definitely not for the faint of heart. But seeing as how I and several people I know and love went through this storm and so much after it had passed, this is just one way I can try to let them and many others know that the storm may have left, but your stories & pain will never be forgotten.
